Tony Gualda and C&M Motorsports Fifth on Old School Petaluma Gumbo

PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in the regular season finale at Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night, Tony Gualda and C&M Motorsports ran very well on an hold school heavy and rough Petaluma Speedway surface as Gualda picked up a fifth place finish.

“The track was tricky all night, but everyone was dealt the same hand so we went to work and did what we could to adapt,” Tony Gualda said. “We had good speed and went forward each time we hit the track.”

Timing the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Moorefield Construction backed No. 7c in 10th quickest in qualifying time trails, Gualda would find himself in the sixth starting position for his heat race.

With the track still coming in, Gualda would do an excellent job of working his way forward as he would pick up a couple of key positions as his fourth place finish would end up lining him up in the seventh starting spot for the 30-lap feature event.

Having to get his elbows up on the tricky surface, the Hollister, CA driver would get bottled up on the start of the race as he fell back to the ninth spot at one point. Getting his elbows up and showing off some great car speed, Gualda would start to turn in some exciting laps as he was able to work his way up to the fourth spot at one point in the race.

With the exit of corners getting a little hair at times, Gualda would have to check up amidst a couple of strong runs and it would end up costing him a position as he took the checkered flag with a fifth place finish.

“I think we were good enough for a podium, but there was a couple close calls on the exit of turn two and turn four that I checked up rather than force the issue,” Gualda said. “It was a fun night on a fast track, and I have to thank Cody and Mandi for letting me driver their hotrod.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, Moorefield Construction, Inc., PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, 51 Fifty Energy Drink, Alturas Tires, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
