Tony Gualda Continues to Get Stronger at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Tony Gualda continues to get stronger at Placerville Speedway. One week removed from a podium finish, the Hollister, CA driver was in action and finished in the sixth position after getting turned on the second lap and going to the back of the pack.

“It was a really good night for us,” Tony Gualda said. “It’s nice to continue to gain confidence and run up front in this C&M Motorsports no. 7c car.”

Timing in second fastest during qualifying time trials, Gualda would line up in the second row of his heat race. Finishing fourth in his heat, Gualda would move the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Pacific Highway Rentals entry into the nightly redraw where the six pill would place him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

Following pre race track work, Gualda seemed to have a nice grasp on the redone surface as he hopped into the fifth position as things got underway. On the second lap of the race, Gualda would see a car come across the nose of his machine and it would force him to spin out and tag the back of the pack.

Going all the way back to 20th, it was now ‘game on’ for Gualda and the Moorefield Construction/PT Shocks/Swartz Diesel machine. Bobbing and weaving through the field, Gualda would soon find himself all the way back up in the Top-10.

Continuing to right for more positions, Gualda would work his way back up near the Top-Five as he took the checkered flag in the spot in the 51 Fifty Energy Drink/Alturas Tires/Velocity Race Gear machine.

“It was kind of a bummer to have to go to the back so early in the night, but at least it gave me time to recover,” Gualda added. “We have a really fast racecar, and hopefully we can continue to be strong nightly.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, Moorefield Construction, Inc., PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, 51 Fifty Energy Drink, Alturas Tires, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
