PETERSEN MEDIA: Making his first career start at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Lucas Ashe took some lumps on the ¼ mile speedway as he took on the Sprint Car Challenge Tour Saturday night.

“It wasn’t our best night, that is for sure,” Lucas Ashe said. “The track was pretty slick all night long with a ton of cars, and I just put us behind the eight ball early with time trials.”

Timing the SALCO Inc./Lucas Oil/NAAKE Suspension No. 33 sprinter in 11th fastest in his time trial group, Ashe would find himself in the 11th starting spot for heat race action.

On a track that was extremely wide and racy in heats, Ashe was able to do a little moving and shaking as he would pick up a couple of positions and finish in the eighth spot.

Not transferring into the feature event, Ashe would then find himself in one of the night’s twin C main events due to his qualifying time. Lining up ninth in the C, Ashe would need to get into the top-two finishing spots if he wanted to keep his night going.

Going to work on the tight confines of the Placerville Speedway, Ashe would find himself battling the likes of Colby Wiesz and Dustin Golobic as he tried to fight his way forward.

On the seventh lap of the race, Ashe would opt to take his machine back to the trailer and start to gear up for this weekend’s double header.

“I have to thank my guys for all of their hard work,” Ashe added. “Coming to a new track is tough, and adding the caliber of field it was made it even more difficult. I am excited to get to Tulare, CA this weekend and run the 360ci, and the 410ci.”

Lucas Ashe Racing would like to thank SALCO Inc., Lucas Oil, NAAKE Suspension, STL Tile, Crown Motors, Logo USA, DMI Components Shaver Racing Engines, Maxim, Rod End Supply, Lucky Seven Outlaw Wings, Fat Cat Propane, Pickern Allstate Ins., Jester Auto Museum and Event Center, and Justeson Farms for their continued support.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 4, Wins-0, Top-5’s-0, Top-10’s-2

ON TAP: Ashe will be at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA on Friday and Saturday night for the Peter Murphy Classic.
