PETERSEN MEDIA- Heading to the Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA for two races, Jonathan Allard would pick up a sixth place finish on Friday night during a 360ci event, and claw his way to a seventh place finish on Saturday night with the King of the West Series.
“My guys gave me a really good car both nights, but I made a couple of mistakes that hurt us and got stuck in no mans land as well on a couple of occasions,” Jonathan Allard said.
Timing the Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt No. 3C machine in 10th fastest on Friday night, the Chico, CA driver would take advantage of his front row starting position in his heat and pick up the win to earn a spot in the six-lap Dash.
Finishing fifth in the Dash, Allard would grid the field from the third row aboard his King Racing Products/BR Motorsports/Red Line Oil backed entry. Working into the fourth spot in the early stages of the race, Allard would pressure Tommy Tarlton for the third spot following a lap seven restart.
As the duo battled wheel to wheel, Allard would slightly get out of shape and fall back to the fifth spot. In the closing laps, Allard would drop to sixth where he would finish.
Saturday night the King of the West Series invaded the Keller Auto Speedway, and having troubles in time trials, Allard would line up sixth in his heat race. Finishing in the fifth spot, the Chico, CA driver would line up in the eighth row for the 30-lap bout.
When the race finally got going after an extremely sluggish start, Allard would move forward in the early laps until getting off the racing surface as a fellow competitor all but spun in front of him.
Losing several positions from the incident, Allard would flex his muscle as he worked his way forward from the 16th spot. Picking up several positions during the race’s closing laps, Allard would end his night with a seventh place finish.
“We got stuck behind a couple of different guys who all but spun out and it hurt our track position,” Allard added. “We were really good, but going to the back twice made things difficult.”
Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.
2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-55, Wins-10, Top 5’s-26, Top 10’s-36.
