(PETERSEN MEDIA- Aptos, CA)- After a month hiatus the stars and cars of the Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster are set to return to action at the Ocean Speedway as they will battle the Ocean Sprints during the Sixth Annual Howard Kaeding Classic on Friday night.
Marking the third year that the Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster has taken part in this great event, 2015 Johnny Key Classic winner, Andy Forsberg leads the series into action as he searches for his first HK Classic Triumph.
Forsberg has been tough at the Ocean Speedway over the years, but hot on his trail and also looking for his first ever Howard Kaeding Classic triumph, and first series win of the year is Mason Moore.
Moore and Forsberg have been the class of the field thus far in the 2016, but Friday nights show looks to be like a star-studded affair in what will mark the sixth round of action for the Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster making it the series’ halfway point.
With Forsberg and Moore leading the way other drivers expected to be on hand include 2015 HK Classic Champion, Justin Sanders, 2014 winner, Brad Furr, 2014 Series Champion Shane Golobic, former King of the West Champions Kyle Hirst, Brent Kaeding, and Tyler Walker, DJ Netto, Bud Kaeding, Bradley Terrell, Steven Tiner, Koen and Kyler Shaw, Tony Gualda, Michale Ing, Chase Majdic, Seth Nunes, Buddy Kofoid, Jeremy, and Jason Chisum, Dustin Golobic, and many more stars from around the state.
Tickets for the event will be $22 for adults, $15 for kids 6-12, children five & under free. The front gate will open at 4:30pm with hot laps at 5:30pm, qualifying around 6pm and racing to follow. All seating is general admission.
The Howard Kaeding Classic has morphed into one of the premier weekends of racing in the Golden State and the weekend will kick off with the annual HK Classic Car Show on Thursday night from 4pm-8pm at the Martial Cottle Park located at 5283 Snell Ave. in San Jose, CA.
Following the race on Friday night, High Five Pizza and Catering by Five will put on an after party located just outside of the pit area off of turn four. Appetizers, and drinks will be served with donations being accepted in support of the NARC Benevolent Fund.
Prior to Saturday’s King of the West/Wingless Sprints presented by Joe Hunt Magnetos event, the High Five Pizza and Catering by Five group will be back at the track for the HK Classic Luncheon, that is being offered up for $20, with proceeds to going to the NARC Benevolent Fund.

What started as just a handful of races at three different tracks has evolved into quite the series.
