White Closes Season in Arizona

PETERSEN MEDIA- Closing her 2014 season out in Yuma, AZ over the weekend, Harli White competed with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour two more nights making both feature events.

“It was great for us to make both feature events, but we had some issues both nights, so hopefully this winter we can start addressing some little things, so we can hit the ground running in 2015,” Harli White said.

Friday night, White lined up in the third row of her heat race, and on the dry-slick surface, the Lindsay, OK native was able to pick up some big-time passing points, as she finished third, and moved into the feature event.

Hardly making any adjustments to her car, White and company though they would be strong in the feature event, but as the track continued to slick-off, White found herself aboard a very loose racecar.

Lining up in the 11th spot, White figured out very early in the feature event, that her car was too loose, and she had a hard time keeping her car under her. Doing everything she could board her MVT/Jerry Tucker Roustabout/Lucas Oil backed entry to find grip, but slipped through the field.

When the checkered flag waived on the event, White had slipped back to the 24th spot.

“It was really bad on Friday night,” she said. “We were so good in our heat race, so we only did some minor things to our car, but we clearly figured out we should have made some major adjustments.”

Saturday night saw White advance to second in her heat from her third place starting spot, again locking her into the feature event, where she lined up in the 12th spot.

When the race went green, White was able to hold her own, as he battled near the top-10 early in the race. As the race wore on, and the track went away, White’s car slowly went away as well, as she simply struggled over the last half of the race closing her season out with a 21st place finish.

“This year was a big learning curve for my team and myself,” White said. “We took our lumps, but we learned a ton, and it can only help us get better for 2015. We will get to work on cars, and take some of what we learned this year, and hope it brings us some success in 2015.”

Harli White Racing would like to thank Mesilla Valley Transportation, Jerry Tucker Roustabout, Lucas Oil, Charlie’s Trucking, PXP Racewear, All Star Cafe, Boyd’s Racing Engines, Race Chic, Crash Enterprises, Outlaw Wings, Super Flow Testers, Simpson, Classic Seagulls UK, Eagle Motorsports, and the Shriners Hospital For Children Gavelston for their support during the 2014 season.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-51, Wins-0, Top 5’s-8, Top 10’s-15.
