PETERSEN MEDIA- After having a disappointing showing during the Steve King Memorial event, Harli White is looking forward to four races with the ASCS Warrior Region.
“I made some mistakes over the weekend, and we struggled because of it,” White said. “I have had some time to think about it and regroup, and I think a four-race weekend is just what I will need to get my head straight,” White said.
Saturday night at the Dodge City Raceway Park, White and the rest of the field were greeted with an extremely fast racing surface early in the night, and as fate would have it, White drew a high pill, putting her in the back of her heat race.
Not earning enough points to transfer through her heat, White did make the feature event by way of her run in the B main, putting the Lucas Oil/MVT/PXP Racewear backed No. 17w in the 10th row of the feature event.
Starting in the back of the pack on a track that was difficult to pass on most of the night, White was patient as she worked through heavy traffic.
Persistently working her competition, White found herself in the 15th spot as she took the checkered.
“Dodge City was easily the better of the two nights, but it still wasn’t very good,” she added. “The track was fast, so it was good to get some laps in, I just wish we could have picked up some more spots.”
Sunday night White checked into the 81 Raceway, and again she drew high on a very heavy and narrow race track for her heat race.
Failing to get through her heat race, White lined up in the 11th spot in the B main, and the 81 Raceway had slowly widened out through the course of the night.
Working her way up to the fifth spot, White got a little anxious, and spun her machine out, and was unable to keep it fired, and was forced to the back of the pack, where she would finish.
“I just flat messed up, and ended up spinning out. I was so mad at myself,” White said. “On the bright side we have four races coming up this weekend, so after clearing my head, hopefully I can put some mistake free nights together, and have a nice weekend for everyone who helps us out.”
Harli White Racing would like to thank Lucas Oil, Mesilla Valley Transportation, PXP Racewear, Simpson, Classic Seagulls UK, Eagle Motorsports, and the Shriners Hospital For Children Gavelston for their support during the 2014 season.
2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-24, Wins-0, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-7.
ON TAP: White is now set for four nights of action with the ASCS Warrior Region starting on Thursday night at the Double X Speedway, Friday night at the Callaway Raceway, Saturday at the Randolph County Raceway and Sunday back at the Double X Speedway.
