White Oh-So-Close at Devil’s Bowl

PETERSEN MEDIA- Looking to pick up her first win of the season, Harli White would come up just short on Saturday night at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway as he went toe-to-toe with Kevin Ramey and finished in the second position with the ASCS Red River Region.

“We were so close to getting the win, and I honestly feel like my decision on the last lap cost us,” White said.

Picking up a second place finish during her heat race, the Lindsay, OK native would pull the four pill during the nightly redraw, and lined her MVT/Jerry Tucker Roustabout/Lucas Oil No. 17w machine up in the second row of the 25-lap feature event.

From her second row starting spot, White was patient in the opening laps as he stocked the early leader before she made her move and took command of the race. Out front, White was very strong as she worked the top of the Devil’s Bowl Speedway to perfection.

As the race came to a close, White would feel pressure from a pesky Kevin Ramey. Able to fend him off, White would take the white flag in the race lead as she looked to pick up her first ASCS Red River win.

Looking to protect herself, White would dive to the bottom of the speedway, but as he did that Ramey went to the top, and raced past her and White would settle for runner-up honors.

“I thought if I stayed up top, I was begging him to slide me so I went low and he made the top work,” White said. “It was a race I wanted to win very badly, but we came up short. I want to thank all of my fans and sponsors for their support and want to congratulate Kevin on his win.”

Harli White Racing would like to thank Mesilla Valley Transportation, Jerry Tucker Roustabout, Lucas Oil, Charlie’s Trucking, PXP Racewear, All Star Cafe, Boyd’s Racing Engines, Race Chic, Crash Enterprises, Outlaw Wings, Super Flow Testers, Simpson, Classic Seagulls UK, Eagle Motorsports, and the Shriners Hospital For Children Gavelston for their support during the 2015 season.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-19, Wins-0, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-6.

ON TAP: White will now head to the Knoxville Raceway for the 25th Annual 360 Nationals. She will hit the track on Friday night for her qualifying run, and will be in action again on Saturday night for the 360 Nationals finale.
