PETERSEN MEDIA- Matt Peterson has no trouble moving forward, and on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway who proved that as he finished 10th after going to the back on two separate occasions.
“We didn’t have a bad night by any means, we just had some bad luck, but fortunately Brian Cannon and all of my guys gave me a great car, worked hard, and we escaped with a 10th place finish,” Matt Peterson said.
Returning to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Peterson did not get a great time during qualifying time trials, as he timed his V&H Fresh/Miller Lite/Inventory Sales No. p37 machine in 20th fastest.
Failing to transfer out of his heat, Peterson worked his way forward from the rear of the B, to narrowly earn a transfer spot into the 25-lap feature event, as he lined up in the 20th position.
With the track becoming more racy as the night went on, Peterson was able to make some nice moves early in the race, as he found himself inside the Top-10 in just three laps, before being involved in a tangle.
Restarting from the 20th position, Peterson would again show serious speed as he again worked his way back into the 11th position in just a couple of laps before more contact again would send him to the work area, and to the back of the pack.
With a majority of the race ahead of him, Peterson would restart from the 18th spot, as he again put on a nice charge forward, as he worked his way back into the Top-10 when his wild night finally came to a close.
“We didn’t time in well, but I have so much confidence in Brian Cannon and this team that if we do put ourselves in a hole, we will be able to fight out of it, and we did that on Saturday night,” he added. “I have to thank all of my guys, and my family for sticking with me, and busting their butt’s on Saturday night.”
Matt and his team would like to thank V&H Fresh, Miller Lite, Inventory Sales Company, Bear Trucking, Future Energy Savers, Transportation Services, The Oil Medics, Shell Shock, Vahlco Wheels, and MTFX Graphics for their support in 2015.
