Wrong Place, Wrong Time; Albright Upside Down at Antioch Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending his Saturday night competing in his BCRA Lighting Sprint, Dakota Albright’s strong run came to an abrupt end when he contacted a car that lost power ahead of him and went for a wild ride.

“Luckily the wreck wasn’t too bad, but it is a bummer it ended our night like that,” Dakota Albright said. “We had a good car, but I don’t think we had anything for Hunter Kinney who was really strong out front.”

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Waterford, CA driver flexed his muscle in his second BCRA start of the season as he made a couple of quick moves on the Antioch Speedway surface and found himself in the lead.

Racing his way to the win, Albright secured the seventh starting position in the impending feature event.

When the green lights flashed on, Albright got off to a great start as he wasted not time picking up track position. Racing into third on the race’s second lap, the battle for position was on as he was amidst a three-car race for the runner up position.

Amidst the battle, Albright was shuffled back to fourth, but the battle waged on as he was right on the rear bumper of third place as they ran down the back stretch.

As they rumbled towards turn three, the car in front of Albright lost power and though he tried to avoid the slowing car, contact ensued, and Albright took a tumble down the back stretch.

While he climbed from the wreckage unscathed, his night was over.

“I tried to miss him, but it happened so fast were the slightest contact sent us for a ride,’ Albright added. “Thank you to everyone who came out and helped me on Saturday, and a shoutout to all the great sponsors that support my racing efforts.”

Dakota Albright and Spencer Motorsports would like to thank Thompson’s Family of Dealerships, Sacramento Battery, Morgan Precision Roofing, Nor Cal Gun Vault, Quality Telecom Consultants, Johnson and Matos CPA’s, Romey’s Window Cleaning, Angel’s Heavy Haul, Amsoil, King Racing Products, NGK, CSI Shocks, Oval Chassis Research, Roza Motorsports, Gladden Racing, Nutcher Milk, Wild West Commodities, Greenwood Machine, and Casey White Cosmetic Tattoos for their support in 2024.
