PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting caught in the wrong place at the wrong time on Saturday night in Hanford, CA, a spinning car would collect Andy Forsberg before being hit by another car, which brought his night to an end on the ninth circuit.
“We had a decent night going” Andy Forsberg said. “We timed in pretty well, but missed the Dash. I felt like we were making a little headway in the feature, but a car spun in front of me and I clipped him and then got hit by someone else pretty good and it ended our night on the ninth lap.”
Looking to grab his second SCCT win of the season, Forsberg and F&F Racing made the trip to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA on Saturday night. Getting the night started off well, Forsberg timed the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 entry in second quickest in his qualifying group.
Heat race action saw Forsberg get off to a nice start as he dipped low and grabbed the early lead, while much of the field went to work on the top.
With the top tricky, Forsberg stayed on the bottom but it would get him as he would end up finishing third after an entertaining 10-lap heat.
Not qualifying for the Dash, Forbserg would still transfer into the feature event where he rolled off the starting grid from the 11th position. With the track still a bit tricky in the feature event, Forsberg would break into the Top-10, as he slowly made headway as untimely cautions would undo his maneuvering.
On the race’s 10th lap, things went array for the Auburn, CA pilot as a spinning car in turn four left him with nowhere to go and he would make contact with his front end, and as that happened another car would make contact to the right rear corner of Forsberg’s entry and finish his night off.
“Pretty big bummer,’ Forsberg said. “It is never good to tear stuff up, and it seems as if we have our worst luck at these SCCT races for whatever reason. Still, thanks to my guys for continuing to work hard for me. We have a couple races coming up at tracks we are usually pretty good at, so I am hoping we can shake this off and get back up front.”
F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2019.
