Ryan Bernal Opens 2026 With Las Vegas Win
PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting the 2026 season kicked off over the weekend in Las Vegas, NV, Ryan Bernal had a great showing as he picked up a second-place finish on Thursday night, and capped the trip off with a stop in victory lane.
“Overall, it was a great weekend for the TDR/JRM group,” Ryan Bernal said. “Really proud of our efforts to pick up a win as well as a second-place finish at a place like Las Vegas Dirt Track.”
Kicking the trip to Sin City off on Thursday night, Bernal timed the NOS Energy Drink/Inland Rigging/JFM backed No. 17 entry in fastest in his qualifying group which put him in the fifth starting position of his heat race.
On the big ½ mile nestled in the Nevada desert, Bernal picked dup a couple of crucial positions as he tallied a third-place finish. Moving into the feature event, the Roseville, CA native lined up in the fifth starting position as he chased after an opening night win.
When the race came to life, Bernal began his charge towards the front as he worked around the tricky and treacherous Las Vegas Dirt Track. Able to navigate some of the large ruts and holes that had developed over the course of the night, Bernal moved into second late in the race, which is where he went on to finish.
Back in action on Friday night, Bernal continued to show a ton of speed in Las Vegas, NV as he timed in fastest in his qualifying group and then went fifth to second in his heat race.
Lining up fifth in the feature, Bernal quickly jumped into second as he chased after the early leader, Tanner Carrick. Hounding Carrick for the first half of the race, Bernal made his move on the 10th lap as he powered to the top spot.
Taking over the race lead, Bernal was extremely strong as he build up a sizeable gap on his competition and raced to his first win of the season by over a two second advantage.
“My guys had their hands full running two cars, but they did a great job of making sure we had strong cars on the track both nights,” Bernal added.
