Sean Becker Back in Victory Lane
PETERSEN MEDIA- Sneaking back up to Marysville Raceway on Saturday night for one final shakedown with Dan Monhoff Racing before they attack Calistoga Speedway together during Labor Day Weekend, Sean Becker and company had a great night as they picked up their second win of the season together.
“Saturday night Dan Monhoff and I had one final shot to shake his car down before we race together again at Calistoga Speedway and it went very well,” Sean Becker said. “The track was fast and tricky, and we were still able to pass cars and pick up a win.”
Going out early in the qualifying session, Becker laid down a great lap as he timed the M&M Structures backed No. 35 entry in third fastest in time trials which put him in the second row of his heat race.
Finishing fourth in heat race competition, Becker moved into the feature event where the redraw put him in the sixth starting position on a fast Marysville Raceway surface.
Jumping into fifth on the race’s opening lap, Becker continued to forge his way to the front of the field as he was in fourth by lap two, and into third on the race’s third lap.
With a very sporty Monhoff Racing entry underneath him, Becker was able to power into second on the eighth lap as he continued to chase after race leader, Nick Larson. Continuing to close on Larson, Becker made his move on the 18th lap as he stormed into the race lead.
Out in front, Becker continued his strong pace as he led the race’s final laps and picked up his second win of the season.
“Last time out, we fought some issues so it was great to have an event free night and get it done,” Becker noted. “It was another fun night with Dan Monhoff and his team.”
