Shane Golobic Third at Silver Cup with C&M Motorsports
PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the call from C&M Motorsports to run their Lund Construction/Anrak/Sam Rhodes backed No. 7c over the weekend, Shane Golobic and team had mechanical issues end their night early on Friday, but bounced back with a third-place finish on Saturday night.
“I was super thankful to get the chance to fill in for my NOS Energy Drink teammate, Colby Copeland over the weekend,” Shane Golobic said. “It was a fun weekend racing the Cody and Mandi Geaney, and their team.”
Getting the weekend kicked off on Friday night with fast time efforts in qualifying, issues in their heat race resulted in their night coming to an early end.
Able to make repairs during the day on Saturday, Golobic and company were back in action for Saturday’s finale where the Fremont, CA driver timed in eighth fastest amongst the 26 drivers checked into the pit area.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Golobic was able to get the jump over Friday night’s feature event winner, Andy Forsberg. Leading the way from start to finish, Golobic was able to score the win and secure a spot in the nightly Dash.
Going from fifth to fourth in the Dash, Golobic took the green flag for Saturday’s feature event on the outside of the second row on a very hooked up and fast racing surface.
Running in the fourth spot in the opening laps of the race, Golobic took the third position on 7th lap as he chased after the lead duo of Austin Wood and Tanner Carrick.
Continuing to hold down the final spot on the podium, Golobic capped the weekend off with a third place finish in ‘fill in’ duty with C&M Motorsports.
“I really enjoyed working with Cody and Bobby, and am appreciative for their hard work in getting the issues we had on Friday sorted out so we could have a strong night on Saturday.”
