PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting in a trio of races against the PA Posse, the World of Outlaws, and High Limit Racing, Ashton Torgerson’s busy weekend culminated with a fifth place finish on Sunday night at Path Valley.

“It was a pretty good weekend for the Shark Racing team,” Ashton Torgerson said. “We had pretty good speed all weekend long, and I was able to get some laps at a couple places that I haven’t been to before and had some success.”

Gearing up for this weekend’s National Open at Williams Grove Speedway, Torgerson and team were in action at the famed ½ mile on Friday night where he struggled a bit all night. Ultimately finishing 21^st, the team made the trip to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH on Saturday night to take on the World of Outlaws.

Timing in ninth fastest in qualifying time trials, Torgerson advanced from fifth to fourth in heat race competition to lock into the 30-lap feature event.

Running in 10^th during the opening stanzas, Torgerson dropped back to 12^th on the 4^th lap and settled in. Holding strong in 12^th, the Glendale, AZ driver fought hard to get into the Top-10 but just couldn’t make anything happen. Briefly getting into 11^th for a couple of circuits, Torgerson ultimately settled for a 12^th place finish with the Outlaws.

With High Limit Racing at Path Valley on Sunday evening, Torgerson and the Shark Racing team made the trip to take on the series on small confines.

Qualifying 12^th fastest in his flight, Torgerson was able to get through a wild heat race as he advanced from sixth to finish third and lock into the 35-lap feature event.

In what was a very wild and action-packed feature event, Torgerson was very patient as he worked forward from his 11^thplace starting spot.

Spending the early laps battling between 10^th and 9^th in the running order, Torgerson jumped into eighth on the 9^th lap, and was into 7^th by the 11^th marker.

Settling into seventh, Torgerson held his own as he maintained seventh until he was able to work into sixth with six laps left in the race. Knocking on the door of the Top-5, Torgerson was able to take over fifth on the 34^th lap where he went on to finish.
