Ryan Bernal Pockets Two Top-10’s and Top-5 at 31st Trophy Cup

PETERSEN MEDIA: Ryan Bernal and the Josh Ford Motorsports team had a great showing at the 2025 Trophy Cup as Bernal picked 10th place finishes on Thursday and Saturday night, and finished 5th in Friday night’s feature event.

“I was really happy with how our Trophy Cup went,” Ryan Bernal said. “It is an event predicated to passing cars, and I thought we were able to that really well all weekend.”

Timing the NOS Energy Drink/Inland Rigging/MPe backed No. 73 in 7th fastest in Thursday night time trials, Bernal went from sixth to fifth in his heat race and locked into the feature as he was 16th in points.

Lining up 16th in the opening night feature event, the Hollister, CA native turned Roseville, CA resident was able to add to his point total nicely as he worked his way forward on a rough and fast Thunderbowl Raceway surface.

Avoiding some of the craziness that took place in the opening night feature, Bernal took the checkered flag in 10th, as he then turned his attention to Friday night to see if he could better his point total.

Getting night two off to a very good start, Bernal timed in third fastest in qualifications before charging from eighth to fourth in his heat race. Once all heats were completed, Bernal was fifth in points which put him eighth on the starting grid for the feature event.

Having a very solid showing in the second and final preliminary night feature event, Bernal was able to carve his way forward a few spots and he capped the night off with a fifth-place finish.

Sitting fourth in Trophy Cup points heading into Saturday’s finale, Bernal was able to pick up a pair of positions in his heat race as he went from eighth to sixth and kept his fourth-place position heading into the 50-lap finale.

From the back of the pack, Bernal continued to pass cars as he worked his way forward against a very strong field. Getting into the Top-15 just past the halfway break, Bernal continued to forge his way towards the Top-10. Moving into 12th on the 41st lap, Bernal took over 10th on the 47th lap, where he went on to finish.

With the finish, Bernal also capped his weekend off by finishing seventh in Trophy Cup points.

“Really thankful for the job Jimmy and Charlie did all weekend, and like I said, just a really good weekend for us from start to finish,’ Bernal added.
