Tough Night In Placerville, CA for Chance Grasty

PETERSEN MEDIA- Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team got off to a good start on Saturday night in Placerville, CA, but things quickly turned for the team as they ultimately endured a DNF in the feature event.

“After timing in second fastest in our qualifying flight, our night really went downhill, which was unfortunate,” Chance Grasty said. “We just got caught in bad spots in our feature and in our heat race, but it’s part of it on some nights.”

With 41 cars checked in at Placerville Speedway for the Sprint Car Challenge Tour’s season opening event, the Suisun City, CA driver timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 in second quickest in his qualifying flight.

Lining up fourth in his heat race, Grasty needed to finish inside the Top-5 to earn a spot in the Dash and transfer into the feature, however, issues with a car in front of him in turns three and four resulted in him making contact which then forced him into the work area.

Able to make enough repairs to tag the back of the field, Grasty ultimately finished seventh and was forced into the night’s B Main.

Taking the green flag from the front row, Grasty jumped out to the early lead and showcased a very strong car. Pulling away on a couple of restarts, Grasty was very pleased with how his car felt as he picked up the win and kept his night alive.

Lining up 21st in the 30-lap feature event, Grasty was mired in the back of the field in the opening stages of the race, but was extremely patient as the track widened out a bit with each lap.

When the race reached halfway, Grasty was able to make his first few moves of the race as he got into 18th, and then jumped into 17th a lap later and began to look for a way inside the Top-15.

However, on the 19th lap, more action took place ahead of him and he was again collected which ultimately ended his night.

“I felt good as we got to the halfway point, and was able to start making up some ground,” Grasty said. “Unfortunately, we ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time and got collected in a wreck that ended our night.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Sierra Single Ply Roofing, Triple X Race Co., Wrayvon, CRV Carbon Solutions, Econo Lube ‘N’ Tune, XC Gear, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.

ON TAP: F&F Racing and Chance Grasty are set for Chico, CA this Friday and Saturday night as they will compete in the Mini Gold Cup.
