Landon Brooks Records 13th-Place Finish in Tulare, CA
PETERSEN MEDIA: Making a return trip to Tulare, CA on Saturday night with NARC, Landon Brooks was able to take some positives away from a tough night which resulted in a 13th place finish for the Hamilton Racing team.
“The result wasn’t what we wanted, but I really feel like it was a good night for us just building our 410ci package,” Landon Brooks said. “We had better speed than a 13th place finish, but I didn’t time in well and the track was tough to pass on all night.”
With 25 cars in the pit area in Tulare, CA on Saturday night, the Rio Oso, CA driver timed the Lippert Construction/Tiner Hirst Ent./Mozingo Construction backed No. 21L entry in 15th fastest after going out very early in the qualifying session.
Taking the green flag from the third row in his heat race, Brooks finished sixth, which then placed him 18th on the starting grid for the 30-lap feature event.
When the feature event came to life, Brooks was able to slowly pick up positions as the race clicked off an 18-lap green flag run. With the track staying heavy and fast, passing was tricky for most.
Being extremely patient as he battled in heavy traffic, Brooks spent much of the race in 15th. Working into 14th with just 10 laps to go, Brooks was able to get into 13th on the last lap when things got a little crazy coming to the checkered.
“We just have to keep building week in and week out, and I have the best group behind me to do just that,” Brooks added. “Thanks to Roger and Lori Hamilton, Dave Lippert, Tiner Hirst Ent., and all of our amazing partners for all they do for me and this team.”
