PETERSEN MEDIA: 2026 will see Bubba DeCaires run weekly at Skagit Speedway. Saturday night, the season came to life at the famous Washington based speedway and DeCaires kicked the year off with a 13^th place finish.

“Saturday night was definitely a good night of learning and building our notebook for the track,” DeCaires said. “We were able to try something different each time we hit the track, and I am really excited to get back up there this weekend.”

With 23 cars on hand for the track’s season opening event, DeCaires went out dead last and timed the Morrison Concrete/Max Sells powered by Red Leaf Realty/High Sierra Industries backed No. 94 in 18^th fastest in time trials.

Making some adjustments to his entry prior to heat race competition, DeCaires was able to pick up a few positions as he advanced from his sixth starting position and scored a fourth-place finish.

Gridding the field from the 12^th starting position for the 30-lap finale, DeCaires slipped back into 13^th as the race came to life on a very slick surface. Dropping back to 14^th at the halfway point, DeCaires worked his way into 12^th on the 17^thlap.

Holding down the 12^th position for the next eight laps, DeCaires lost the spot on the 25^th lap as he fell back to 13^th, where he went on to finish.

“It was great to get up to Skagit Speedway and get our season started,” DeCaires said. “I know we will learn a lot night in and night out, and I am really excited for each weekend up there.”
