Paul Nienhiser Defends Home Turf with IRA
PETERSEN MEDIA: With the IRA invading Jacksonville Speedway on Friday night, Paul Nienhiser defended his home turf well as he was able to extend his point lead with the series, and pick up the win in front of his hometown crowd.
“Heading into Friday night, I was hoping to run well with so many family members, friends, and partners in the house, but also because we had just reclaimed the series points lead last week,” Paul Nienhiser said.
Going out late in the qualifying session, Nienhiser timed the AGRI-YIELD/CAM2 Lubricants/Midland Performance Inc. No. 9x entry in 11th fastest overall.
Needing to win his heat race to have a shot at the Dash, the Chapin, IL driver took advantage of his front row starting position and powered into the lead. Leading from start to finish, Nienhiser made himself Dash eligible and then went on to draw the pole of the Dash.
Just as he did in his heat race, Nienhiser was able to get another good jump from the front row. Leading the way from start to finish again, Nienhiser picked up the Dash win and was on the pole of the 30-lap feature event.
When the feature event came to life, Nienhiser continued to show he was the dominant force on this night as he left the field in is wake and quickly reeled in the back of the pack.
Getting into traffic, Nienhiser was able to extend his lead as he got through traffic methodically.
The only issue for Nienhiser arose on lap 26 when he got up over the curb and off the racing surface. With a sizeable lead, Nienhiser never faltered and never lifted and was able to retain the lead.
In the end, Nienhiser went on to lead every lap and score his 9th win of the season.
“It was just great to win in front of AGRI-YIELD, Buffalo Wild Wings, American Rental, Steve’s Towing, and T&K Tree Services employees in attendance,” Nienhiser added. “It was a great night overall with our only blemish being qualifying. Again, I have to thank my guys for their hard work and continuing to give me an exceptional car night in and night out.”
Nienhiser would like to thank AGRI-YIELD, CAM2 Lubricants, Midland Performance Inc., MB Heating & Cooling Inc., Buffalo Wild Wings, T&K Tree Services, Morrow Brothers Ford Inc., American Rental Center, Signature Signs, The ID | SP, Bradshaw Custom Pumping, Wessler Bros. Agency Inc., Haverfield Construction-Concrete, Steve’s Towing, Dropped Mobile, Mason Sound, AB&C Moving, Bayer Crop Science, Dekalb/Asgrow, Engler Machine and Tool, Rider Racing Engines, K1 Race Gear, and Super Shox for their support.
Nienhiser would also like to thank Heartland Trailer Manufacturing, Rockstar Wraps, Kinney Racing Engines, and Stronghurst Collision Center for their support of Scott Bonar’s No. 50 car.
