Landon Brooks 2nd with NARC At Antioch Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Reuniting with NARC on Saturday night at Antioch Speedway in Antioch, CA, Landon Brooks and the Hamilton Racing with Tiner Hirst Enterprise team flexed their muscle as Brooks picked up a second-place finish.

“We had a couple tough weeks with High Limit, but on Saturday night we put that behind us and really had a strong night,” Landon Brooks said. “I just needed to do a better job on the initial start, but I am happy to get these guys back on the podium.”

Brooks got the night kicked off by timing the Lippert Construction/THE/Mozingo Construction backed No. 21L entry in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Brooks slipped back to third as the field navigated around a very narrow surface that was offered up on this night. Finishing third in his heat, the Rio Oso, CA driver still earned a Dash berth based on his qualifying effort where his Dash win then put him on the pole of the feature event.

With the surface still staying extremely fast, Brooks and company adjusted their car accordingly as they set out looking for a NARC victory.

When the green flag was displayed to the field, Brooks made an admitted mistake and slipped back to fourth initially before moving back to third as the field raced through turns three and four.

Running in third, passing was extremely tough on this night as the field stretched out and the leaders quickly reached the back of the field and began the lapping process.

While running through heavy traffic, Brooks was able to take over the second position on the 22nd lap just before a late caution bunched the field back up on the 26th circuit.

With one shot at challenging Justin Sanders for the race win, Brooks hung with Sanders as the race resumed, but was unable to make a move for the top spot and closed the night out with a runner up finish.

“I really want to thank the Hamilton Racing and Tiner Hirst Ent. guys for all of their hard work,” Landon Brooks said. “They continue to grind and get our car better each night out.”
