Braden Chiaramonte 10th with NARC at Placerville Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA: Battling motor gremlins his previous two nights out, Braden Chiaramonte and company seemed to put those issues to bed on Saturday night as Chiaramonte earned quick time honors at Placerville Speedway before recording a 10th place finish in the feature.
“We definitely had a ton of speed on Saturday night, which was a great feeling after a couple of tough nights out fighting engine issues,” Chiaramonte said. “We did have a brake issue in the Dash that bled over into the feature, but I was still happy with our result.”
A total of 25 cars checked into the Placerville Speedway pit area for the track’s lone NARC event of the season, and Chiaramonte bested them all in time trials as he earned quick time honors.
Lining up fourth in his heat race, Chiaramonte worked his way to a third-place finish which also locked him into the all-important Dash. Pulling the six in the Dash, Chiaramonte was able to score a fifth-place finish despite having a brake issue arise that forced his team in to a scramble before the feature event.
With the brake caliper mount snapping off and causing the caliper to come off the rotor, the team went to work to get that fixed and replaced. With the scramble of getting that changed, they weren’t able to fully focus on changes to their car for the 30-lap finale.
Despite his car being a little ‘off’ in the feature, the El Cajon, CA driver still was able to keep his car inside the Top-10 as he battled with Kaleb Montgomery and Landon Brooks.
When the race came to a close, Chiaramonte capped things off with a 10th place finish.
“We definitely fought some lingering issues in the feature after scrambling to get our brakes fixed, but it was a solid night and I was happy we had good speed from start to finish,” Chiaramonte added.
