Landon Brooks 7th at NARC’s Pay Dirt Classic

PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night marked the penultimate night of action for the NARC series in 2026, and in what was the lone visit of the season by the 410ci sanctioning body Landon Brooks picked up a seventh-place finish as the Hamilton Racing with Tiner Hirst Ent. team looks ahead to Saturday’s finale in Hanford, CA.

“Despite the track being really fast all night and tough to pass on, we were able to pass cars and that is all I can ask for on my end,” Landon Brooks said. “I really got going after a caution around the halfway point and it allowed me to work forward and get us into the Top-10.”

With a total of 25 cars rolling into Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for NARC action, Brooks got the night underway by timing in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Moving into heat race competition, the Rio Oso, CA pilot took the green flag from the inside of the second row. Unfortunately, the inside was not the ideal starting spot early in the night and Brooks fell back to fourth when the race went green.

Battling with Shane Golobic who was applying heavy pressure for all eight laps, Brooks maintained fourth and the finish put him in the 12th starting position for the 30-lap feature event.

When the feature event went green, Brooks slipped back to 12th as he settled on a surface that was still very fast, very similar to the Thunderbowl Raceway surface just one week prior.

Continuing to run in 12th as the laps clicked off rapidly, a caution on the 13th lap took traffic out of the equation and put the field in clear track and in double file formation. When the green replaced the yellow, Brooks was able to get the top groove of the track working to his favor as he began to charge forward.

Jumping into 10th on the restart, Brooks continued to battle as a nice move on the 18th lap saw him jump up into eighth.

With time winding down, Brooks then was in a battle for seventh on the 20th lap and was able to take the spot for good on the 23rd lap. Holding onto the spot for the final eight laps, Brooks brought the night to a close with his 31st Top-10 of the year.

Heading into Saturday’s season finale in Hanford, CA, Brooks sits in a tie for third in driver points with the series, and will look to solidify his position in the final NARC event of the year.

“Even as the season starts to wind down, we will continue to look for that little bit in qualifying that we seem to lack for some reason,” Brooks said. “We continue to race well, but if we can put ourselves in position to get into these dashes and re draw, I know for a fact we will get even better finishes. I really want to thank all of my guys for continuing to work hard at the shop as well as at the track, as well as the Hamilton family and our partners for ensuring we have what we need to compete.”
