Tanner Carrick Eyes SCCT Finale Weekend After Tough Trophy Cup

PETERSEN MEDIA: With the 2026 Trophy Cup not going as planned for Tanner Carrick and the Carrick Motorsports team, the Lincoln, CA driver is quickly turning his attention to this weekend’s Sprint Car Challenge Tour finale weekend in Merced, CA and Stockton, CA.

“We had decent speed in Tulare, CA over the weekend, we just didn’t seem to have things go our way,” Tanner Carrick explained. “One of those weekends that is definitely frustrating, but all we can do now is get ready for these next two races in front of us.”

Thursday night’s Trophy Cup opener saw the Lincoln, CA driver time in 14th quick with 35 drivers checked into the pit area. On a very heavy and fast racing surface that stayed narrow for the duration of the night, Carrick finished sixth in his heat race and was forced into the ‘B’.

Lining up in the third row of the ‘B’, Carrick needed to finish inside the Top-six to keep his night alive and he was able to do just that. Finishing fifth, Carrick moved into the opening night 30-lapper where he lined up in the 22nd starting position.

With passing at an extreme premium on this night, Carrick capped the night off with a 21st place finish as he hoped for a better surface and a better night on Friday.

Going out in the middle of Friday night’s qualifying session, Carrick was 28th fastest aboard the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T entry which put him on the front row of his heat race.

Settling in to finish in the second spot, points put Carrick in the second row of the ‘B’ where he again needed to finish inside the Top-6 to move into the Friday night feature event.

In a very wild and chaotic semi, Carrick was able to avoid some of the madness though he did fall back to seventh at the halfway point. Making a late race move, Carrick was able to secure the sixth and final transfer position before moving into the feature where he ultimately finished 22nd.

Saturday afternoon lined drivers up in heat races via event points and that put Carrick starting ninth in his heat race. Finishing eighth, Carrick moved into the 25-lap ‘B’ Main where he took the green from the sixth starting position.

Working his way forward on the freshly groomed track, Carrick was able to pocket a third-place finish when the race came to a close, which put him third on the starting grid for the 50-lap finale with the race completely inverted.

Following another track prep session, Carrick settled into third as he chased after the lead duo of Robbie Price and Dylan Bloomfield.

Able to get by Price for the race lead on the 15th lap, Carrick looked strong out front until another stoppage slowed the action.

The restart was not kind to Carrick as he slipped back to fifth. With something going south on his car, Carrick slowly drifted back until his night finally came to an end on the 30th lap.

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, D.R. Horton, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Hanson Truss, TC Guide Service, Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body, Simpson Strong-Tie, A&A Concrete Supply, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 59, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 14, Top 10’s: 32

ON TAP: Tanner Carrick is slated to travel to Merced Speedway on Friday night and Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night for the final two SCCT events of the season.
