Tanner Carrick Eyes First Tulare Stat of Season
PETERSEN MEDIA: Traveling to the Las Vegas Dirt Track in Las Vegas, NV over the weekend to race with High Limit during their 2025 season opener, Tanner Carrick came up short of the feature event but the Lincoln, CA driver will look for redemption this week in Tulare, CA.
“Half miles against these guys are always tough, and we just were not where we needed to be,” Tanner Carrick said. “I am excited to have another shot to race against those guys this week in Tulare, CA.”
With weather essentially wiping out Thursday’s scheduled opener, the weekend turned into a one night stand in ‘Sin City’ with 38 cars checked into the pit area.
Timing in 16th fastest in his qualifying flight, Carrick lined the CVC/Cemex/California Waterfowl backed No. 83T up in the fourth row of his heat race. With the wet weather showering the area the previous two days, a fast surface saw passing very tough on the ½ mile.
Finishing eighth in his heat, Carrick moved into the ‘B’ where he took the green flag form the 11th starting position. Hoping to make a run into the Top-4 to transfer into the feature event, Carrick just wasn’t able to get going as he spent the duration of the race stuck in traffic turning extremely fast laps.
In the end Carrick took an 11th place finish in the semi, and now has his attention turned towards Wednesday night’s High Limit event in Tulare, CA.
“I only get the chance to run a big track like that once a year or so when we head back to Knoxville, so it is good experience to run against these national guys when they are this close,” Carrick said. “Tulare, CA is a place that has been pretty good to us lately so I am extremely excited to see how we stack up with them this weekend on some home turf.”
