Dakota Albright 4th in Season Opener
PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting his season kicked off on Saturday night in Placerville, CA, Dakota Albright had a solid first night out as he tallied a fourth place finish on the famed bullring located in El Dorado County.
“It was a good first night out,” Dakota Albright said. “We had good speed out of the box and put ourselves where we needed to be. In the feature the track didn’t fall off as much as I thought it would so we were just a little off.”
Getting the season kicked off on a fast note, the Waterford, CA driver timed the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships/Johnson and Matos CPA’s/Greenwood Machine and Fab No. 35Jr in second fastest in time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Albright was able to make a couple of nice moves as he raced into second, where he finished, and was able to then turn his attention to the 20-lap feature event.
Finding himself on the outside of the second row for the feature, Albright headed out looking to get his season started on a high note.
With over 80 cars in the pit area, the track stayed in good shape and extremely fast which Albright admitted threw him off a bit once the race went green. After competing at the track fulltime in 2024 he anticipated blowing off and slowing down in the feature.
Not quite making the right adjustments for the track conditions, Albright was still able to hang tough as he battled with the likes of Jake Morgan and Matt Land.
Keeping his mount solidly inside the Top-Five, Albright maintained fourth all race long and ended his night with a fourth place finish.
“I definitely know what I could have and should have done to the car with how the track was, but it just threw me off a bit staying that good all night,” Albright added. “It was a fun way to kick the season off, and hopefully we can continue to keep ourselves up front all year long.”
Dakota Albright would like to thank Thompson’s Family of Dealerships, Johnson and Matos CPA’s, Greenwood Machine and Fabrication, 530 Wraps, Oval Chassis Research, Parker Performance and Fabrication, Romey’s Window Cleaning, Nurcher Milk, Angels Heavy Haul, West Steel and Plastics, Calhot Powder Coating, Sala Racing, Petersen Media, and Simpson Race Products for their support in 2025.
