Mariah Ede Races Into Friday Night Feature Event

PETERSEN MEDIA: After a couple of weekends off, Mariah Ede returned to action over the weekend in Chico, CA at the Mini Gold Cup. Continuing to adapt to a 410ci engine, Ede was able to race into the feature event on Friday night.

“For the first time getting to Silver Dollar Speedway we definitely had our ups and downs,” Mariah Ede said. “Friday night, we were able to make progress through the night on the heavy and rough track, but on Saturday the track was the opposite, and it was a struggle.”

Friday night, Ede lined the Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 up in the fifth row of her heat race after going out very early in the qualifying session.

Racing to a seventh-place finish in the heat, Ede was forced into the ‘B’ Main as he she continued to make her first laps at Northern CA bullring. Lining up in the second row of the semi, Ede was able to make some moves forward as she worked her way towards the race lead.

Able to get into the top spot, Ede took the B Main win and kept her night alive as she transferred into the feature event. Lining up 19th on the starting grid on a track that was very rough when the feature event came to life, Ede was able to make 30 more laps as she tip-toed through the rough stuff.

When the race came to an end, she took the checkered flag in 15th as her and her team turned their attention to Saturday’s finale which was run with NARC sanction.

Greeted with a completely opposite track surface on Saturday night, Ede timed in 16th in her qualifying flight before again racing to a seventh place finish in her heat race.

Forced into the ‘B’, Ede lined up eighth and had hopes of matching Friday’s effort as he needed to finish in the Top-Four to move into the feature event.

Not quite able to have a run through the field to keep her night alive, Ede ended up capping her weekend off with a seventh place finish in the semi. Though she wasn’t able to race into the ‘A’, Ede still looked at the weekend as a hole in a positive light.

“Despite the results, laps are laps and it’s so important to keep getting laps in the 410ci and continuing to get comfortable,” Ede added. “I really want to thank my dad and sister for all of their help this weekend, and I’m looking forward to getting to Merced Speedway this week.”

Mariah Ede and the Mariah Ede Racing team would like to thank Pacific Boring, M&L Plumbing, Circle J5 Ranch, FK Rod Ends, and MetTec Titanium for their support.

ON TAP: Mariah Ede and company will return to action on Saturday night as they head to Merced Speedway in Merced, CA with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.
