Ashton Torgerson Continues To Show Speed With Shark Racing
PETERSEN MEDIA- Backing up his win from a week ago during his first weekend with Shark Racing, Ashton Torgerson had things going his way on Friday night with the World of Outlaws until a mechanical failure while leading the Dash changed the complexion of his night.
Checking in at Eldora Speedway with Shark Racing to take on the World of Outlaws for the annual Let’s Race Two event, Torgerson and the Shark Racing team got off to a quick start as he the Glendale, AZ runner timed in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Torgerson settled into second when the race came to life. Hanging on to finish in the runner up spot, Torgerson was not only locked into the feature event but was also earned a spot in the Dash by way of his finish.
Pulling the one pill, Torgerson led the field to green in the six-lap shootout. Getting the jump when the race went green, Torgerson looked strong and confident out front until issues under the hood forced Torgerson to slow and head back to the pit area.
In the Shark Racing pit area, the thrash was on to make an engine swap prior to the feature event. Able to make the swap just in time for the feature, Torgerson was slated to take the green flag from the eighth starting position.
As the field fired off for the feature, the Shark Racing entry wasn’t able to start, and he was forced back into the work area.
Able to find the issue, Torgerson was able to make the call for the feature event, however he would have to line up at the back of the pack. When the race came to life, Torgerson was able to make up some ground as the race got going as he got as high as 16th at the halfway point.
In the final laps of the race, he slipped back a few spots as he capped the night off with a 20th place finish.

ON TAP: Ashton Torgerson and Shark Racing will be back in action with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series this week in PA as they will be at Lincoln Speedway on Tuesday night before two nights of action at Williams Grove on Friday and Saturday.
