Holmes 10th at Lakeside To Cap Midwest Trip
PETERSEN MEDIA- An early season Midwest tour came to a close on Friday night as Tanner Holmes and Tarlton Motorsports earned a 10th place finish with High Limit Racing at Lakeside Speedway.
“Friday night was a great run for our team with a Top-10,” Tanner Holmes said. “Lakeside Speedway in one of my favorite track, and it was another interesting night there.”
Getting Friday night kicked off with a solid qualifying effort, Holmes timed the Tarlton and Son Inc./American Rock and Rent/Executive Auto Sales backed No. 21 in eighth fastest in his qualifying flight.
On the big, slick half mile, Holmes was able to solidify a fourth place finish in heat race competition, and that locked him into the feature event where he rolled off the starting grid from the 15th starting position.
When the feature event came to life, Holmes was patient in the early goings as he searched for grip and picked his spots. As the laps clicked off, Holmes came to life and was able to make some gains in the final 10-laps of the feature event.
Racing by some tough competition, Holmes closed the trip out with a 10th place finish as the team now prepares for some big NARC races back in CA.
“It was a good trip overall, and I am excited to see how we do once we get back out to CA and back on the bullrings,” Holmes said. “Racing with the Outlaws and High Limit guys definitely elevates you, so eager to see what we gained once we get back on more familiar turf.”
