Tulare Top 5 Highlights Busy Weekend for Sean Becker

PETERSEN MEDIA- A NARC doubleheader weekend was highlighted by a fifth place finish during the opening feature event of the Morrie Williams Twin 20 event in Tulare, CA for Sean Becker and the Bjork Motorsports team.

“We have really good race speed, I just need to execute and do a better job of getting us timed in and getting the job done in our heats so we can qualify for these dashes,” Sean Becker said.

A busy two-day stretch with the Northern Auto Racing Club saw Becker and Bjork Motorsports check into Ocean Speedway on Friday night, a track the Shark has had success at in the past.

Timing in fourth fastest, Becker lined the Bjork Construction/Kaeding Performance backed No. 7b up on the front row his heat race where he needed to score the win to make the Dash.

When the heat roared to life, Becker slipped back to second as he chased after Tyler Thompson who was out to the early lead. Unable to get by Thompson for the Dash berth, Becker settled for second which placed him in the fourth row of the feature event.

On the slick Ocean Speedway surface, Becker hung around the eighth spot in the opening laps until cars got together in front of him and he lost track position as he took evasive action. Slipping back to 12th, the track began to turn one dimensional with the field ripping around the high side of the speedway.

Unable to make up the lost ground, Becker capped his Friday night off with an 11th place finish as the team made the trip south to Tulare, CA for the Morrie Williams Tribute event.

The unique event sees drivers compete in a standard NARC format, however double features are ran with the second feature being inverted with the lead lap cars for a second 20 lap feature.

Timing in eight quickest in time trials, Becker again pocketed a second-place finish in his heat race as he then lined up eighth in the initial feature event.

With a very strong Brad Bumgarner prepared entry under him, ‘The Shark’ was able to make some moves in the fast-paced feature as he raced his way up to the fifth by the time the checkered flag flew.

Based on his feature one finish, Becker took the green flag from the sixth row for the second feature.

With the track undergoing a full rework, passing proved to be tough as Becker capped the night off with a 14th place finish in the finale.

“Thanks to Brad Bumgarner and everyone on the Bjork Motorsports team for their hard work,” Becker said.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-7, Wins-0, Top 5’s- 2, Top-10’s- 5

ON TAP: Becker will head to Chico, CA this weekend as he is slated to pilot the Kyle Standley owned No. 54s entry.
