Mariah Ede Geared up For Fastest Five Days with NARC
PETERSEN MEDIA: Competing with NARC on Saturday night in Chico, CA, Mariah Ede picked up a 13th place finish at the David Tarter Memorial, as she now heads north for NARC’s annual Fastest Five Days Speedweek through Oregon and Washington.
“We were really tight on a hooked up racetrack, in the feature,” Mariah Ede said. “It had been really slick in our visits earlier in the year so that was definitely a little different. Other than fighting that, it was a decent night as we now head towards Oregon and Washington.”
With 22 cars on hand for the annual David Tarter Memorial, the Fresno, CA driver timed the Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of her heat race, Ede slipped back in the eight lapper as she finished in the sixth position which put her in the eighth row of the 35-lap feature event.
Despite high heat in the Chico, CA area over the weekend, track crews fought a surface that didn’t want to dry out and took several opportunities to open the surface up in hopes it would start to ‘go away’.
With the surface staying extremely fast even until the feature event, it caused many teams to fight tight cars, with Ede being one of them.
“As the race went on it got really tough to hang on to, but we made do,” Ede added.
From the 16th starting position, Ede was able to work her way forward a bit as the race clicked of laps quickly.
Working her way towards the Top-10, she couldn’t quite get there as she capped her Saturday night off with a 13th place finish.
“I really want to thank my dad and everyone who supports our team,” Ede said. “I know we are all looking forward for Speedweek and getting into Oregon and Washington.”
