Joel Myers Jr Earns Hard Charger with High Limit Racing

PETERSEN MEDIA: A busy week of racing for Joel Myers Jr and Hayward Motorsports was highlighted by an eighth place finish on Thursday night at the Rayce Rudeen Foundation race, that also saw the team earn Hard Charger honors on the night.
“It was a busy week for us, but it was productive,” Joel Myers Jr said. “We had some good runs, found some issues with our car, and learned a few things for the upcoming Summer schedule.”
A four race stint through the state of Wisconsin saw the team take on High Limit Racing on Wednesday night at Red Cedar Raceway where they raced into the feature event before scoring an 18th place finish.
Thursday night the scene shifted to 141 Speedway for the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race with High Limit Racing, and Myers Jr had a tough start to the night as he timed the IPC/Velocity Engineering/RPM Chassis backed No. 19 in 27thfastest in qualifications before an eighth place finish in his heat race.
Continuing to work on the Hayward Motorsports entry, Myers Jr and company looked strong in the ‘B’ as they rolled off from the sixth starting position. Getting as high as the fourth spot during the semi, the Sebastopol, CA driver was able to hang on to a transfer as his sixth place finish put him 24th on the starting grid.
Making more adjustments prior to the feature, Myers Jr was able to move forward as the feature event came to life. From his 24th starting position, the youngster was able to outduel some of the best in the business as he raced his way towards the Top-10.
Racing into 10th on the 29th lap, Myers Jr continued to make his way forward as he took over the eighth spot on the 33rdlap, and held on to cap of an impressive run through the field.
Friday night, the team joined the World of Outlaws for the first of their two consecutive nights in the Badger State as they invaded Plymouth Speedway. Just seemingly off all night, Myers Jr and team struggled before ending their night in the “B” with an 11th place finish.
Opting to pull down a different car on Saturday night’s action at Beaver Dam, Myers Jr timed in 16th fastest in his qualifying flight before a fifth place finish locked him into the 40-lap feature event.
Mired at the back of the pack for much of the race, Myers Jr ended up with an 18th place finish when the 40-lapper came to a close.
“It was a lot of racing against some extremely talented fields,” Myers Jr said. “We figured out an issue with the car we started the week with, and I felt a ton better on Saturday night. Thanks to Brodie Hayward and all of our partners for allowing us to run a mini speedweek through Wisconsin.”
