Andy Forsberg 4th at Placerville Speedway on Jimmy Wall Night
PETERSEN MEDIA: On a night that was bigger than racing for Andy Forsberg, the Auburn, CA picked up a fourth place finish in the feature event, but that took a back seat with Saturday night paying homage to an ailing long time race fan, Jimmy Wall, who spent so many years traveling up and down the road with Forsberg.
“Saturday night was all about Jimmy Wall,” Andy Forsberg said. “Unfortunately, last week we got some news about Jimmy and he is very sick and this was most likely the last night we would have him at a track. It was great to see so many people support him on this night and I am thankful we got to give him a proper send off at a place he loved.”
Timing in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials, Forsberg lined the Pacific Highway Rentals/Meridian Cameras/Oroville Tax backed No. 92 up on the front row of his heat race. Powering to the win, Forsberg was locked into the feature event and more importantly in the redraw, where it gave Wall one final opportunity to pull a pill for him, a job that belonged to ‘Eight Pill Jimmy’ for so long.
“The pill draw was great,” Forsberg said with a laugh. “First off, all there should have only been six pills in the bag, but as luck would have it we got the four heat bag, and going first Jimmy pulled the eight for me which he had done so many times over the years. But aside from that, it was super cool to see all five additional drivers have Jimmy pull their pills as well.”
Ultimately ending up with the three pill, Forsberg lined up in the second row for the 25-lap feature event as he chased after his seventh feature event win of the 2025 season.
When the race came to life, Forsberg jumped into second as he chased after Justin Sanders as the duo picked up from their epic battle a month ago during the Davy Thomas Memorial.
Chasing after Sanders in the early laps, an early restart didn’t not go Forsberg’s way as he slipped back to third. Falling back to fifth on the 11th lap, Forsberg was able to work back into fourth just past the halfway point before getting back to third on 16th lap.
Running in third for two laps in an intense battle, Forsberg fell back to fourth on the 19th lap, where he went on to finish.
“Racing honestly played second fiddle on Saturday,” Forsberg added. “We did have a solid night, but doing it up right for Jimmy Wall was a big priority and I am thankful it all went well. We have a big week of racing on tap, and I am hoping we can continue to run well.”
Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Oroville Tax, Wilkie Masonry, Western Traffic Supply, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, FK Rod Ends, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, MCK, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for Fan Appreciation night on one week removed from victory getting snatched from his grasp at Petaluma Speedway, Andy Forsberg was not to be denied as he wired the field and scored his sixth win of the season.
“I have to give big props to RMI because he always seems to pull a rabbit out of his hat with the track the week after the El Dorado County fair, and Saturday night was no different,” Forsberg said. “Mix a great track with a packed grandstands and it was a really good night.”
With 23 cars on hand Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Forsberg was the first car to hit the track for time trials and laid down a very strong lap he ended up fourth quick aboard the Pacific Highway Rentals/Meridian Cameras/Oroville Tax backed No. 92.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver was hard on the throttle as the race came to life and he powered to the lead. Keeping the field at bay, Forsberg picked up the win and earned a spot in the all important redraw.
With a little luck on his side, Forsberg drew the two and was on the front row of the feature event alongside last week’s winner, Chance Grasty.
When the race went green, Forsberg actually slipped back to second officially before taking command of the race on the second lap. Out in front, the Auburn, CA driver was very strong on the slick quarter-mile bullring.
Keeping the field at bay, Forsberg was able to cruise to his sixth win of the season by nearly a 1.5 second advantage over second place.
“My team has really been working to get us faster and faster on the slick surface and Saturday it felt really good,” Forsberg said. “Thanks to the crew, Paul (car owner) and all of our sponsors for making this all possible.”
Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Oroville Tax, Wilkie Masonry, Western Traffic Supply, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, FK Rod Ends, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, MCK, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.
