BMidget Top-10 Highlights Triple Crown Night for Braden Chiaramonte

PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night in Placerville, CA, Braden Chiaramonte took part in the inaugural Triple Crown event where he piloted his family owned USCS Non Winged Car, the Matt Streeter Racing Midget, and the Tiner Hirst Enterprise Winged Sprint Car. Amid the busy night, Chiaramonte came away with a 9th place finish in Midget action.

“It was a super fun night running in all three divisions, I just wish we had more to show for it,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “Thanks to everyone that made it all possible, and hopefully it is an event we can take part in again.”

Timing the MSR No. 14 midget in seventh fastest in time trials and finishing third in his heat race, the El Cajon, CA driver lined up seventh in the feature event. A slick surface on this night did let the midgets move around a little as he battled inside the Top-10.

Battling with the likes of TJ Smith and Shane Golobic, Chiaramonte ended up with a ninth place finish with the USAC Western States Midgets.

In the USCS Non Winged Division, Chiaramonte continued to show a ton of speed aboard the family owned car at the Northern CA facility dating back to June’s event as he timed in second fastest in his time trial group.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Chiaramonte finished second and then lined up in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

Slipping back to seven in the initial laps, Chiaramonte got into sixth on the fifth lap, and was into fifth by the sixth lap. Running well inside the Top-Five, issues at the race’s halfway point saw Chiaramonte and another get together which ultimately brought his feature event to a close.

After timing in fourth fastest in his qualifying group and running second in his heat race, Chiaramonte lined the Tiner Hirst Enterprise No. 94th up in the fourth row for the final race of the night.

On the slick surface with a very thick cushion built up, Chiaramonte’s race got off to a tough start as he hit the cushion wrong and got up off the track surface and spun to a stop.

Able to restart, the youngster did a nice job of working his way back through the field amidst very tough track conditions. Abel to work his way back forward, Chiaramonte was able to rebound with a 14th place finish.

Also in action in winged Sprint Car action on Friday night for the 4th of July event at Placerville Speedway,  Chiaramonte timed in fifth fastest in time trials before a sixth place finish in his heat.

Forced into the ‘B’, Chiaramonte picked up the win and moved into the feature where he took off from the 17th starting position.

From the back of the pack, Chiaramonte was able to navigate his way through the field despite the track being dominant on the bottom groove. When the checkered flag was displayed to the field, Chiaramonte brought his night to a close with a 10th place finish.

“It was an extremely busy couple of days, and like I said earlier, thankful to everyone that made it possible,” he added. “We had some good speed in all three cars, and was interesting to bounce between all three all night long.”

The Tiner Hirst Enterprise Racing team would like to thank Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Hepfner Racing Products, EMI, Fisher Racing Engines, System 1, Larry Davis Farms, and Slade Shocks for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 25, Wins- 0, Top 5’s- 5, Top 10’s- 10
