Sean Becker 15th at Petaluma Speedway After Early Tumble
PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to action with the NARC King of the West Series on Saturday night in Petaluma, CA, Sean Becker and the Bjork Motorsports team had a good night going, until a tumble early in the feature event changed the complexion of their night.
“We had a great start to the night with fast time, and we kept that speed up all night long,” Sean Becker said. “Unfortunately, I put myself in a bad spot in the feature and we got upside down.”
Getting back to action with NARC on Saturday night, Becker got the night kicked off by timing the Bjork Construction/Kaeding Performance backed No. 7B in fastest in qualifications.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Roseville, CA native finished fourth on the hooked-up surface and punched his ticket into the all-important Trophy Dash.
Drawing the six in the redraw, Becker started and finished sixth in the Dash which placed him in the third row for the 30-lap feature event on a surface that was getting increasingly rougher.
When the feature came to life, Becker settled into fourth where he ran for the first two circuits until a yellow flag bunched the field back up. When the race restarted, Becker charged into turns one and two where he caught a rut and sent his entry upside down in the middle of the corner.
Heading to the work area, Becker’s team was unable to get him back out initially, but they continued to work as they hoped for another stoppage.
Though they did lose a couple of laps in doing so, ‘The Shark’ was able to eventually rejoin the mix where he was able to close the night out with a 15th place finish.
