Braden Chiaramonte Makes High Limit Racing Debut at Gold Cup Race of Champions
PETERSEN MEDIA: Running the 360ci portion of Gold Cup in years past, 2025 saw Braden Chiaramonte take part in both 360ci and 410ci action as the youngster made his long-awaited debut with High Limit Racing.
“It was a cool experience to finally take part in the 410ci portion of Gold Cup and race with High Limit Racing,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “I wish things would have gone a little better, but it really was fun and a great opportunity to race against some stout competition.”
Enduring mechanical issues on Wednesday night, Chiaramonte was back on track Thursday night for his High Limit Racing debut in the THE/Hepfner Racing Products/EMI backed No. 94TH.
Timing in 22nd fastest in qualifying time trials, the heat race invert for the Gold Cup put the El Cajon, CA driver on the pole. Needing the win to gain max points, Chiaramonte did just that as he wired the field and locked into the 16th starting position in the opening night feature event.
Avoiding near disaster on the start of the race, Chiaramonte got going once the race went green as he jumped into 11th. Working around the slick surface and looking for a way into the Top-10, Chiaramonte had a misstep on the 15th lap that saw him get over the edge of the speedway and fall back to 23rd.
Losing a ton of ground as he gathered his entry back up, he unfortunately lost a lap was trapped in 23rd for the duration of the race. Still getting all his laps in, Chiaramonte took his 23rd place finish and began to prepare for Saturday’s finale.
Lining up ninth in his qualifier on Saturday night based on his Gold Cup points, Chiaramonte’s ninth place finish forced him into the ‘C’ Main. Lining up out of a transfer spot in the ‘C’, he was able to race his way into fourth and keep his night alive has he moved into the ‘B’.
Taking the green flag from 20th in the ‘B’, a tricky surface made charging forward tough, though he gave it his best go. Picking up a few positions in the 15-lapper, Chiaramonte ended his Gold Cup with a 15th place finish in the semi.
“Our point total buried us in Saturday’s finale and the track was really tough to get going forward on,” Chiaramonte added. “It was a fun week of racing, and I am really thankful to the THE guys for all of their hard work.”
The Tiner Hirst Enterprise Racing team would like to thank Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Hepfner Racing Products, EMI, Fisher Racing Engines, System 1, Larry Davis Farms, and Slade Shocks for their continued support.
