PETERSEN MEDIA: Making a last-minute decision to hop in the family car and head to Santa Maria Speedway for a rare winged 360ci event at the track, Braden Chiaramonte made the most of it as the El Cajon, CA driver picked up his first win of the 2025 season.

“It wasn’t on our radar, but late last week we decided it would be good to get our new Moss Engine shaken down, and we were really pleased how it ran,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “We had been good at Santa Maria in the non-winged car, and to have really good speed in our winged car was great.”

Getting his Saturday night kicked off in time trials, Chiaramonte timed in second fastest in qualifying time trials, and lined up second in his heat race.

Able to get the jump when the action came to life, Chiaramonte never looked back as he raced away from the field. Picking up the heat race win, the El Cajon, CA driver earned to pole for the 22-lap feature event.

When the green lights flashed, on the Kings of Thunder ‘A’, Chiaramonte got a great jump and drove away from the field.

Working out to a very healthy advantage, Chiaramonte was never challenged for the top spot as he wired the field, and scored the feature event win.

“Just happy we had an event-free night and everything with this engine checked out,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “It was a fun night in the family car, and it is always great to park in victory lane.”
