Albright 2nd at Placerville Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night after winning at the track just two weeks prior, Dakota Albright had another strong night as he picked up a second-place finish.
“With how many cars the track had on Saturday night, the track got super slick so I had to make some adjustments for the feature,” Albright said. “We had a really good start to the race, and I thought he had a shot at battling for the win on a late restart, but I just couldn’t execute.”
Checking into Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Dakota Albright timed the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships/Johnson and Matos CPA/Greenwood Machine and Fab backed No. 35Jr in fourth fastest in time trials.
Having issues at the start of his heat, Albright was able to rebound as he raced his way back to third, which put him in the third row for the feature event.
With the track continuing to slick off with winged sprint cars, non winged sprint cars, and midgets also on the card Saturday night, Albright made some wholesale changes to his car prior to rolling out for the feature event.
When the race went green, the Waterford, CA driver quickly moved into third as he cruised around trying to figure out the slick surface. Working his way into second on the seventh lap, Albright turned his attention to race leader, Hunter Kinney. Chasing after Kinney and cutting into his lead, a late restart gave Albright a final shot.
Unable to make a pass happen when the race resumed, Albright capped the feature off with a runner up finish.
“It was a fun race, and it is nice to have some good speed again after a bit of a struggle in some of our earlier races this year,” Albright said. “Thanks to everyone that supports the team and makes it possible.”
Dakota Albright would like to thank Thompson’s Family of Dealerships, Johnson and Matos CPA’s, Greenwood Machine and Fabrication, 530 Wraps, Oval Chassis Research, Parker Performance and Fabrication, Romey’s Window Cleaning, Nurcher Milk, Angels Heavy Haul, West Steel and Plastics, Calhot Powder Coating, Sala Racing, Petersen Media, and Simpson Race Products for their support in 2025.
