Andy Forsberg 5th at NARC Opener
PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night, Andy Forsberg and the PHR Racing team checked in at Stockton Dirt Track to take part in the 2025 NARC season opening event. While the night got off to a slow start, Forsberg and company were able to rally as the Auburn, CA driver recorded a fifth place finish.
“We were a little off at the start of the night, but my team worked hard and got the car pretty good come feature time,” Andy Forsberg said. “Stockton has been tricky the last few trips as they continue to dial in the new configuration and I thought Saturday night was pretty good overall for not only our team, but the race in general.”
With 25 cars on hand to kick of the series’ 2025 season, Forsberg was a little off in time trials as he timed the Meridian Cameras/PHR/Oroville Tax backed No. 92 in 14th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the third row of his heat race, Forsberg looked sporty in the eight lap shootout as he flirted with a third place finish before settling into fourth and locking in the sixth row for the 30-lap feature event.
As the track continued to take shape over the course of the night, the surface was in excellent shape for the 30-lapper. With a couple of groove options to choose form, Forsberg was able to slowly work his way into the Top-5 and was up to fourth late in the race, and right on the tail of his good buddy, Sean Becker.
A restart saw Becker bobble in front of Forsberg, and as Forsberg got out of the gas to avoid issue, it allowed Kaleb Montgomery to sneak by as Forsberg slipped back to fifth.
Hanging inside the Top-Five during the final laps of the race, the Auburn, CA driver capped the night off with a fifth place finish.
“We had a shot at third late in the race, but that Becker guy got a little out or sorts in front of us and it actually cost us a spot and we slipped back to fifth,” Forsberg said. “After how we got the night started, it was a welcome result and now we will test our luck against the High Rollers this weekend.”
Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Oroville Tax, Wilkie Masonry, Western Traffic Supply, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, FK Rod Ends, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, MCK, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races-4, Wins-1, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-4
