PETERSEN MEDIA- After having a powerplant expire while running in 15^th with High Limit Racing on Friday night, Ashton Torgerson and team raced into Saturday’s feature through the ‘B’, and then used some help from Kaleb Montgomery Racing to finish 15^th in Saturday’s feature.

“It has been a tough start to the year for us with engine issues, and our whole team is really thankful to Kaleb Montgomery and his family for the help in loaning us an engine to use for Saturday’s feature,” Ashton Torgerson said.

Making the trek to Arizona over the weekend to continue to race with High Limit Racing during their opening swing out west, Torgerson got off to a solid start on Friday as he timed in 10^th fastest in is qualifying flight before finishing fourth in his heat race and locking into the feature event.

Taking the Friday night green flag from the 15^th starting position, the Glendale, AZ driver battled hard with a mix of west coast regulars and High Limit regulars as he made solid laps around the Central AZ Raceway.

 Running in 15^th in the closing laps of the race, Torgerson’s mount lost power and on the final lap he coasted home to finish 19^th.

Making a swap and getting ready for Saturday’s finale, Torgerson again got off to a nice start as he timed in ninth fastest, but slipped back to finish eighth in his heat race.

Forced into the ‘B’, Torgerson rolled off the starting grid from the ninth position and needed to race into the Top-4 to keep his night alive. Doing just that, Torgerson was able to work his way forward and take the fourth and final transfer position, but it came at a cost as the team had more issues.

Looking like they may be forced to scratch from the feature event, Kaleb Montgomery and his team offered up an engine for the team to utilize for the feature event and the Snow Racing team went to work while track officials reworked the surface.

Able to get Montgomery’s powerplant situated and acclimated to their car, Torgerson and company hit the track and took the green from the 24^th starting position.

Taking advantage of the opportunity to race, the youngster made some nice moves along the way and ended up finishing in the 15^th position when it was all said and done.”
