PETERSEN MEDIA- After a couple of tough nights with High Limit Racing at Lernerville Speedway, Ashton Torgerson was able to salvage his weekend with an eighth-place finish at Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday night with Shark Racing.

“We had a ton of speed all weekend long, just couldn’t quite finish either night off at Lernerville,” Torgerson said. “I feel like I definitely learned a ton during those two features and something I can build off of.”

Kicking the weekend off at the Commonwealth Clash with High Limit Racing, Torgerson hit the Lernerville Speedway surface with early speed as he timed in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials before running second in his heat race.

Punching his ticket into the Dash, the Glendale, AZ driver’s fifth place finish put him in the third row of the 30-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, Torgerson settled into the Top-10 as he competed against some of the best the sport has to offer.

Continuing to run in the Top-10 issues at the halfway point saw Torgerson pack his right fear full of mud which caused him to slip back to 14^th. Hanging on as best he could, Torgerson slipped back to a 19^th place finish when the race came to a close.

Back in action on Saturday night, Torgerson again came out of the box extremely strong as he timed the Shark Racing No. 1a in seventh fastest in time trials.

Finishing fifth in his heat race, the youngster again locked directly into the feature event where he rolled off the starting grid from the 17^th starting position. Mired at the back of the pack and in dense traffic, Torgerson was never really able to get much going.

Trying to find a different line to make some headway, things just didn’t go in his favor and he ultimately capped the night off finishing 20^th.

With the High Limit swing in the books, Torgerson and his Shark Racing team still had one final night of action left for the weekend as they traveled to Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday night.

Going out early in the time trial session, Torgerson timed in 11^th fastest, and then went on to tally a fourth place finish in his heat race.

Moving into the feature event, Torgerson lined up 12^th for the 40-lap Jim Nance Memorial feature event.

Quickly working his way into 10^th when the race came to life, Torgerson was into eighth on the second lap, before slipping back to 10^th on the eighth lap.

Working his way back forward and into eighth on the 14^th circuit, he settled in and clicked off laps.

Holding onto to eighth for the remainder of the race, Torgerson closed his weekend out with an eighth-place finish.
