Ashton Torgerson Wins With Shark Racing
PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the nod to pilot the famed Shark Racing No. 1A entry in PA over the weekend, Ashton Torgerson made the most of the opportunity as the Glendale, AZ driver picked up a win on Sunday night against a stout field of PA Posse drivers.
In a weekend of firsts, Torgerson made his first visits to Port Royal Speedway as well as BAPS Motor Speedway and showed speed out of the box at both tracks.
Timing in seventh fastest on Saturday night at Port Royal, Torgerson finished fourth in his heat race before settling for a 20th place finish in the feature event.
Sunday, the scene shifted to BAPS Motor Speedway, and Torgerson and the Shark Racing team led by Bobby and Jacob Allen were again fast out of the box.
With a robust 43 cars checked into the pit area, Torgerson was the fastest qualifier in his group which placed him in the second row of his heat race. Finishing fourth in his heat, Torgerson locked directly into the feature event for the second consecutive night as he continued to impress in his debut with the PA Posse.
Working his way into the second as the feature event came to life, Torgerson looked very comfortable aboard the Pell Racing Engines powered No. 1A mount. Racing into the lead on the seventh lap, Torgerson continued to make waves as he kept a stout field at bay.
Out in front, the youngster never looked back as he answered many online critics by parking the famed car in victory lane in just his second start with the team.
