Buddy Kofoid Primed For Sophomore Season with World of Outlaws and Roth Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Finishing fourth in the 2024 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series standings during his rookie campaign and being named series Rookie of the Year, Buddy Kofoid is set to return to the tour in 2025 for his sophomore season with Roth Motorsports and continuing partnership with TRD U.S.A (Toyota Racing Development).

“I am very excited to be back with Roth Motorsports in 2025 for another season with the World of Outlaws,” Buddy Kofoid said. “Being a World of Outlaws driver is something that I have always wanted to do, so getting to do it again is very special to me. Dennis and Teresa have done so much for this sport, and I am thankful that they have the faith to continue to support me and my passion, and keep our team together.”

Buddy Kofoid continued on about the team dynamic that will return in 2024.

“Continuity in Sprint Car racing is huge at this level, and I am very happy that Dylan Buswell will be back as our Crew Chief, and both Nate Knotts, and Gage Tyra are back with us as well. They are three hard working guys that make the time on the road enjoyable, and they are all vital in our success. Lastly, continuing our partnership with Toyota and Mobil1 is exciting as well. They have supported me on a personal level over the years, and now with their engine program really taking off, I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel with TRD power.”

Continuing to support winged 410ci sprint car racing as well as fielding a car on the World of Outlaws tour, Dennis Roth is equally as eager for year two with Kofoid and company.

“As we welcome Buddy Kofoid back for his second season, were excited to see his growth on the track,” Roth said. “His commitment, talent, and work ethic have been an asset to us, and we are confident with a year of World of Outlaws action under his belt that he will help take this team to new heights in 2025.”

2024 saw Kofoid have a standout rookie season on the road. Finishing fourth in the championship standings, Kofoid won seven feature events on the year including the High Bank Nationals at Huset’s Speedway that came with a hefty payday. To go along with those seven wins, Kofoid tallied 53 Top-10’s 32 of which were Top 5 results.

While Kofoid is looking forward to another year back on the road with the same team in place, Crew Chief Dylan Buswell offered similar sentiments.

“To say I am excited to build on the foundation we laid in 2024 would be an understatement,” Crew Chief Dylan Buswell said. “We have a great group of guys with Nate, Gage, and Buddy, and after a great first year together I know we will hit the ground running in 2025. I am also pleased to be working with the great group at TRD again, because they truly are working hard to ensure we are one step ahead of the competition and that is huge in this sport. Lastly, I want to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth, as well as Todd Ventura, for continuing have the confidence and faith in me to lead this race team”

As Buswell and team gear up for another grueling season on the road, the team will once again utilize Toyota Racing Development engines, as TRD continues to have heavy involvement with Roth Motorsports and winged 410ci sprint car racing.

After the on-track success, TRD is pleased to be accepting orders for their 410ci Sprint Car engines. The engines, which will be build by Speedway Engine Development Inc and Rider Racing Engines, will come with contingency offerings in High Limit Racing, World of Outlaws competition, and at the Knoxville Nationals.
