Chance Grasty Picks Up Two Top-10’s at Placerville Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting in two more nights at Placerville Speedway over the holiday weekend, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team picked up a pair of Top-10 finishes.
“It was a challenging weekend for our team, but everyone stayed the course, worked hard, and we ended up scoring two Top-10’s,” Chance Grasty said. “Thaks to all my guys for their continued hard work.”
Getting the weekend kicked off on Friday night at Placerville Speedway, the Suisun, CA driver timed in eighth fastest in time trials and lined up in the second row of his heat race.
Running fourth in the heat, Grasty transferred to the feature aboard the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Single Sierra Ply Roofing backed No. x1 but missed the redraw and lined up 15th in the feature event.
With track extremely good in the bottom groove, the feature event was a single file affair for the most part with the field opting to use the low groove. Able to work his way forward over the course of the 30-lapper, Grasty closed the 4th of July event out with an eighth-place finish.
Saturday night, Grasty and company were back in action at Placerville Speedway where the youngster timed in 10thfastest in his qualifying flight.
On an extremely slick and narrow surface in heat race action, Grasty was unable to move forward from his fifth starting position and was relegated to the ‘B’.
After starting fourth in the ‘B’, and running second, Grasty was again solidly in the feature event where he took the green flag from the 18th starting spot.
Despite the extremely slick conditions that started to take rubber in the feature, Grasty was able to again work his way forward. Taking what he could over the course of the race, Grasty capped the night off with a seventh place finish.
“We just didn’t get timed in well each night, but again, nobody got down and we dug out each night,” Grasty added. “Thanks to Alan, Tooch, and Dand for all of their hard work.”
