Chance Grasty Sixth Placerville Speedway’s Opener
PETERSEN MEDIA- Making the decision to head to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for the track’s season opening event, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team picked up a sixth place finish as they now turn their attention back to the 2026 NARC schedule.
“It wasn’t a great night for us, but with the track staying pretty fast all night, you really needed to position yourself well, and I didn’t take advantage of a front row starting spot in our heat, and missed the redraw,” Chance Grasty said.
Timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in sixth fastest in time trials, the Suisun City, CA driver lined up on the front row of his heat race.
Not getting the jump he needed, Grasty slipped back into second. Holding the runner up position, Grasty locked directly into the feature event, but he didn’t qualify for the redraw and lined up ninth in the feature event.
When the 30-lap affair went green, Grasty jumped up into sixth in the first few laps of the race as the field filtered out around the ¼ mile bullring.
Despite getting into traffic quickly, Grasty held down the position as he continued to work around the speedway.
On the 27th lap, a restart changed the look of the race a bit for Grasty. When the race resumed, Grasty slipped back to seventh briefly, but was able to power his way into fifth briefly until he fell to sixth at the finish line.
“It was just one of those races where we needed to be in the first few rows,” Grasty said. “I am excited to get back to our NARC schedule this weekend in Tulare, CA.”
