Dakota Albright 2nd to Open 2026 Season
PETERSEN MEDIA- Checking in at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night to open up his 2026 campaign, Dakota Albright had a very fast racecar that resulted in a second-place finish.
“We have some prototype components we are trying to start the year, and they seemed to work really well on Saturday night,” Dakota Albright said. “With the track staying really fast all night, it definitely helped with what we were trying, so overall I would say it was a successful night.”
Timing in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials, Albright lined his Thompson’s Family of Dealerships/Matos Accountancy/Greenwood Machine and Fab backed No. 35JR entry up in the second row of his heat race.
In an extremely entertaining battle up front between Albright, Greg Dennett, and Justin Norton, Albright settled for a third-place finish which pitted him in the 5th starting position for the 20-lap feature event.
With the car ahead of him not firing off great when the feature came to life, Albright slipped back to seventh initially, but was able to power his way back into fourth by the end of the first lap.
With a full head of steam he powered into third on the second lap, and the top three broke away and left the rest of the field in their wake. Closing the gap in what was a non-stop affair, Albright took the checkered in third, but after post-race tech was bumped up to second officially.
“It was a fun feature event, and I wish we could have been a row better because I think we would have had something for the top-two,” Albright added. “I want to extend a big thank you to Parker Performance and Fab for their efforts on a few things for us, as well as to all of our partners for their support.”
Dakota Albright would like to thank Thompson’s Family of Dealerships, Matos Accountancy, Greenwood Machine and Fabrication, 530 Wraps, Oval Chassis Research, Parker Performance and Fabrication, Romey’s Window Cleaning, Nutcher Milk, Angels Heavy Haul, West Steel and Plastics, Calhot Powder Coating, Sala Racing, Petersen Media, and Simpson Race Products for their support in 2025.
