Dakota Albright Wins 4th Consecutive Race As He Nets Merced Win
PETERSEN MEDIA- Waterford, CA’s Dakota Albright is in the zone. Returning to action on Saturday night in Merced, CA, Albright picked up another feature event win as it marks his fourth consecutive, and sixth overall in 2026.
“Saturday night went pretty well for us overall,” Dakota Albright said. “We didn’t unload as strong as I had hoped but we worked at it all night and found ourselves back in victory lane.”
Checking in at the high banked Merced Speedway, Albright got his night underway by timing the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships/Matos Accountancy/Greenwood Machine and Fab backed No. 35JR in fourth quickest in the session.
Not happy with how his car felt, Albright and company made a few adjustments before heading out for heat race action where he took the green flag from the third starting position. As the race came to life, Albright felt much better as he quickly stormed into the race lead and never looked back.
Winning his heat, Albright then turned his attention to the feature event where he lined up on the front row for the 20-lap finale.
Continuing to watch the track before feature event time, Albright and company made a few last-minute adjustments that proved to work out. When the feature event went green, Albright ran in second as he battled with his early race leader, Greg Dennett.
A very entertaining battle for the top spot came to an end on the 10th lap when Albright stormed by Dennett for good and assumed control of the race. Out in front, Albright never looked back as he kept Dennett and the field at bay for the final 10laps and scored another feature event win.
“The track was really technical and when it gets like that, I enjoy having to figure it out and move around,” Albright added. “I could make a lot of time up on the bottom in turns one and two, and then rip the top in three and four to get some launch.”
