Dylan Bloomfield Picks Up Win and 4th Place Finish with C&M Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the nod to run the C&M Motorsports No. 7c over the weekend in Placerville, CA for the NorCal Posse Shootout, Dylan Bloomfield made the most of his opportunity as he made a last corner pass on Friday night to secure the win and followed it up with a fourth-place finish on Saturday night.

“I really want to thank Cody and Mandi Geaney for such a great opportunity to drive for them over the weekend,” Dylan Bloomfield said. “Cody, Bobby, and everyone that helps on the 7c gave me a great car all weekend long and it was super cool to get them a win on Friday night.”

With 22 cars on hand, Friday night got started with Bloomfield timing the Lund Construction/Anrak/Sam Rhodes backed No. 7c in fifth fastest in qualifying time trials. Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Discovery Bay, CA driver got the jump and never looked back.

Picking up the heat race win, Bloomfield locked the C&M Motorsports entry into the Dash where a fourth-place finish pitted him on the outside of the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

Running a very patient race on a very tricky surface, Bloomfield was able to capitalize on a couple of mistakes and soon found himself in second and chasing after Justyn Cox.

A late restart let Bloomfield hang with Cox and with the white flag in the air, Bloomfield made an attempt for the top spot in turns one and two, but Cox was able to answer. The action intensified in turns three and four as Bloomfield again slid up in front of Cox, and as Cox looked to again throw a counter punch, the two  banged wheels down the front stretch and had a drag race to the finish with Bloomfield holding the advantage by a bumper and picking up the win.

Back in action on Saturday night for the $8000-to-win finale, Bloomfield timed in 4th fastest in time trials and again found himself on the pole of his heat race. With the inside lane still being greasy, the outside lane had the advantage and Bloomfield fell to second as the heat went green.

Holding the second position, Bloomfield missed out on the Dash but still found himself in the fourth row for the 30-lap finale.

On a track that was extremely dominant on the cushion, Bloomfield spent much of the race battling between sixth and seventh and passing was extremely difficult.

A late restart saw Bloomfield try the bottom, and it worked as he went from sixth to fourth and closed in on third running Cox in the final laps. Unable to secure the final position on the podium, Bloomfield closed the weekend out with a fourth-place finish.

“It was just a really fun weekend with the C&M Motorsports team, and I am really thankful they took a chance on me,” Bloomfield added. “I am hopeful that our schedules align and we can race together again.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Lund Construction, Anrak, Sam Rhodes, MatriScope, Econo Lube-n-Tune, Alturas Tires, Swartz Diesel, Adrian Blanco Jewelry, Kings Meats, American Paving Systems, PT Shocks, Creason Enterprises, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
