Fuel Issues Spoil Bubba DeCaires’ Skagit Speedway Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA: Back in action at Skagit Speedway for one final time in 2026, Bubba DeCaires had a tough night that ended with him pulling into the pit area with a fuel leak hindering his Skagit Speedway season finale.

“I was pretty disappointed with how our Skagit finale went,” Bubba DeCaires said. “We didn’t get timed in well, and then in the feature the fuel leak that we dealt with a few weeks ago came back and I was forced to call it an early night.”

Checking in at Skagit Speedway for one final event at the track in 2026, DeCaires got the night kicked off by timing the Morrison Concrete/Max Sells powered by Red Leaf Realty/High Sierra Industries backed No. 94 in 13th fastest in time trials.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the Elk Grove, CA driver was able to move into fifth as the race came to life. Finishing fifth, he was locked into the feature event where he took the green flag from the 13th starting position.

As the race came to life on a technical Skagit Speedway surface, DeCaires began to search around as he looked to work his way into the Top-10.

In the fast-paced race, DeCaires hung around the middle of the pack until fuel started to spray on his leg. Once the leak started, DeCaires then slowed his pace and was forced to call his night short.

“We thought we fixed the issue, but it’s frustrating that we are dealing with it again,” DeCaires added. “It was not the way we wanted to close our season at Skagit Speedway, but I am really happy with our season overall and how we progressed from our first night out through the end of the season despite having some hiccups along the way.”

DeCaires would like to thank Morrison Concrete, Max Sells powered by Red Leaf Realty, High Sierra Industries, JLC Performance, Tiner Hirst Enterprise, Wion’s Body Shop, and QuickCar Racing Products for their support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-18, Wins-0, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-7

ON TAP: DeCaires will be back in action September 25th and 26th as he will compete at the Fall Nationals in Chico, CA.
