PETERSEN MEDIA: Wrapping up another successful campaign in New Zealand just weeks ago, Joel Myers Jr continued his strong start to ’25 as he cut his first laps on US soil over the weekend and picked up a third place finish at Skagit Speedway in the Willie Kahne owned No. 4.

“I have been fortunate enough to work with Willie Kahne in the past, and it was a blast to drive his car over the weekend,” Joel Myers Jr said. “He is one of the best minds in the sport, so to work with him all week was so much fun and I am glad we ran well.”

Myers Jr and the Kahne combination were fast out of the gate after shaking down the car one week ago during a test day at the track. Kicking the night off by timing in third in qualifying time trials, Myers Jr went on the pocket a third place finish in his heat race and lock directly into the feature event.

When the feature event rolled around, Myers Jr found himself on the front row as he lined up alongside one of the Skagit Speedway favorites, Trey Starks. When the race came to life, Myers Jr settled into second and chased after Starks as they each turned in very strong laps on the Skagit Speedway surface.

Continuing to run in second, a restart hindered Myers Jr as he didn’t get the jump he needed and fell back to fourth as he began to battle the likes of Jason Solwold and Colby Thornhill.

Able to settle back into his groove, Myers Jr moved back into third late in the race and pressured Solwold for the runner up position before settling for a third place finish when the checkered flag was displayed.

“There is definitely no shame in running third to two of the best that run Skagit on a weekly basis right now,” Joel Myers Jr said. “I felt great, Willie put a very strong car under me, and I hope we can do it again this season.”
